Fire Damage FAQs

After the fire is, the structure is safe, and you begin to look at what has been damaged. We highly recommend you do not attempt to clean fire-damaged items on your own. There are a few important reasons why:

  1. Fires create very toxic chemicals that are harmful to your health. We take safety precautions ourselves when handling fire-damaged contents and belongings.
  2. Attempting to clean items incorrectly can make them unsalvagable. Properly restoring fire-damaged contents takes knowledge and skill in how to handle each item.

We do recommend that you take photos of these items and wear gloves when handling them. Feel free to sort out very important items that you want us to prioritize restoring first. We do our best to accommodate these types of situations.

The answer to this question depends on the extent of the damage to your property. If the property is not safe to be inhabited then, yes.

We recommend that you check with your insurance company on what off-site living accommodations they provide. Many insurance policies may cover the cost of a hotel, rental, or another living arrangement.

Your insurance company may have asked you to inventory non-restorable items after your fire damage. While this may seem stressful, we can help you with that as well.

During our fire remediation process, we inventory items that we pack up to clean and restore. We recommend using pen and paper or an excel spreadsheet to keep track of this.

Simply name the item, the approximate date(month and year are fine) it was purchased, and the estimated value. Take a photo of the item as well.

Yes, absolutely. If the damage is extensive and we pack out your belongings for restoration at our facility. Part of the prioritizing process is helping you to figure out what items you will need sooner rather than later. This helps our content cleaning team to prioritize as well. We work very hard and efficiently to get you back to normal as quickly as possible.

Your project coordinator or our content cleaning admin will work with you during this part of the fire damage restoration process.
